A man drowned in a Long Island lake on Friday night while trying to retrieve a remote controlled boat.

Sammie Weiner, 40, had gone to Lake Ronkonkoma with his 9-year-old and 10-year-old daughter.

A stranger had been using a remote controlled boat on the lake when it had a problem.

Weiner went into the water to get the boat.  He swam approximately 150-200 feet off shore when he went under the water and didn't come back up.

Members of the Suffolk County Marine Dive Team found Weiner's body on Saturday afternoon.  Weiner's body was found close to where he was last seen alive.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death and the investigation continues.
