N.J. playground closes due to high lead readings

Officials in Jersey City have closed a playground due to high readings of lead in the soil. 

The city notified the Department of Environmental Protection of the problem at Mary Benson Park on 3rd Street. 

The lead was detected when officials prepared to install new playground equipment. 

Officials are currently working on a plan for fix the lead problem. 

There is no timetable as to when the playground area of the park will reopen.
