Police are warning about a rash of late-night burglaries in Suffolk County.
They have occurred in homes in Lindenhurst, Deer Park, West Babylon and North Babylon.
Suffolk County police say the burglaries have occurred during the last two months, usually when the residents were asleep. On a few occasions, the residents awoke during the break-in and the suspects took off.
No one has been hurt.
The Suffolk County Police Department asks residents to make sure all doors and windows are locked and home alarm systems activated.
They say that extra police patrols are on the streets in those areas.
Residents are advised to call 911 immediately to report any suspicious circumstances, vehicles or individuals.
