Some visitors to the social media tool Twitter.com were not able to access the site Thursday afternoon.
The company posted a note on other platforms at about 12:30 p.m. saying, "Users may be experiencing issues accessing Twitter. Our engineers are currently working to resolve the issue."
The site appeared to have gone down at about 12:20 p.m.
It is not clear what the problem with the site was or how long it would take to be fully restored.
Some users were able to enter the site shortly after 1 p.m.
