Fire rips through several houses in Brooklyn

Firefighters battled intense flames and smoke in scorching weather as a fire ripped through at least two homes in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.

The four-alarm blaze broke out at about 3:30 a.m. Thursday at 170- 81st Street.

Firefighters appeared to have the upper hand at about 6 a.m., SkyFoxHD's Kai Simenson reported.

Three firefighters suffered minor injuries, according to FDNY officials.

The cause of the fire remained unknown.
