A warning if you're hitting the beach this summer -- rip currents could be a problem. Rip currents can carry away even strong swimmers, so don't take chances when red flags are up and/or life guards aren't on duty.

The bodies of two swimmers who went missing on Wednesday were recovered off the coast of New Jersey on Thursday.

The Coast Guard, New Jersey State Police and other search crews were back in the waters of Asbury Park and Seaside Park.

The body of a 23-year-old man from Irvington was discovered about 200 yards offshore in Asbury Park, reported the Associated Press.

A few hours later, state police divers found Bestavros Faris, 18, off the shore of Seaside Park.

On Wednesday, a Coast Guard helicopter from Atlantic City and two boats from Barnegat Light had searched for Faris for a few hours.

Life guards at Seaside Park made 8 to 10 rescues Wednesday.

Both men were swimming when no lifeguards were on duty, reported the Associated Press.

In Perth Amboy, a 10-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl went swimming in the Raritan Bay and apparently struggled against the current.

A passerby and his son jumped into the water and pulled out the children, who are expected to be OK.
