A Long Island boy was hospitalized in very bad shape after getting into an accident on his skateboard.
Nassau County Police say that it happened on Tuesday just before 8 a.m.
The 14-year-old boy was skateboarding eastbound on Lido Boulevard just west of Greenway Road when a 2011 Mercedes Benz hit him.
Police say there was no apparent criminal act that ended in the accident. The vehicle was released to the 44-year old driver after officers performed a safety check on it.
