School bus overturns in Queens

A mini-school bus carrying special-needs children overturned in the Briarwood section of Queens Monday morning.

The five children on board were taken to Jamaica Hospital to be "checked out," said FDNY officials. 

Three adults were injured, officials said. The matron aboard the bus was seriously injured. She and the taxi driver were taken to Jamaica Hospital, reported the NY Post.

The bus driver suffered minor injuries.

SkyFoxHD was over the scene at 87th Ave. and 150th St. as emergency personnel were treating patients.

The mini-school bus reportedly collided with a taxi at about 6:30 a.m. causing it to overturn.

The school bus was up righted at about 7:30 a.m.

The NYPD is investigating the cause of the collision.
