Accused madam could be released from jail Monday

Accused millionaire madam Anna Gristina has put together a bail package that could allow her to be released from Rikers Island on Monday.

The proposed bail package is $250,000 collateral from her family lawyer, Peter Gleason's apartment.

A report in the New York Post is saying prosecutors and the judge, Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan, are reviewing the bail package.

Fox 5 spoke to former federal prosecutor Anne Marie McAvoy about the case who said prosecutors may have asked for a higher bail than necessary.

"I mean she's got a young son who's only 9-years-old," said McAvoy.  "He was recently diagnosed with a heart murmur.  She's got three other children in addition -- it didn't seem like this was a woman who was just going to suddenly jump on a plane and leave the country."

Gristina's bail was recently lowered from $2 million to $250,000 bond or $125,000 cash.

If Gristina is released, she will remain under house arrest and have to wear a court-mandated ankle bracelet at her home in Monroe, NY.
