Rapper Tone Loc collapses on stage during Texas concert

Posted: Updated:

AUSTIN, Texas -- Rapper Tone Loc was recovering Saturday after collapsing onstage while performing in Texas.

The "Wild Thing" MC, whose real name is Anthony Terrell Smith, was suffering from heat exhaustion while performing Friday night at the Moody Theater in Austin, TMZ reported.

His manager said he left the stage to cool off for 30 minutes before returning to continue the show.

Witnesses said the 46-year-old rapper came back to the stage and performed the same songs he had already done before the collapse.

Smith, who has a history of seizures, collapsed onstage during an October 2011 show in Atlanta due to what his manager said was exhaustion, and before that at a 2009 outdoor concert in Pensacola Beach, Fla., due to a seizure.

He is still scheduled to perform Saturday night in Lewisville, Texas, according to TMZ.
