Drake-Brown melee prompts emergency meeting on bottle service at nightclubs

City Council Speaker Christine Quinn is calling an emergency meeting with nightclub owners to discuss the future of bottle service at clubs.
Behind the velvet rope where the liquor flows and the bottles pop, New York City's nightlife is hard to match. But do we really need better security?
Quinn called the emergency meeting between nightclub owners and NYPD to determine if policies regarding bottle service need to be changed in the wake of the fight between the entourages of Chris Brown and Drake. Five people were hurt when people in their groups apparently started throwing bottles at each other.
"The purpose of this meeting is to send a clear message to all nightclub patrons that bottles cannot be used as weapons and to determine if the guidelines surrounding bottle service need to be updated or reworked," Quinn said in a statement. "In light of this week's incident, I am pleased that both law enforcement and industry officials immediately agreed to meet with me and discuss this important public safety issue as soon as possible."
