Four men raced to save a man trapped under a car on a Long Island street on Thursday.

Suffolk County Police say that Jose Rios, 47, had pulled over on Madison Street next to Heckscher State Park at about 5:55 p.m.

He jacked up his Toyota Corolla and crawled underneath to take a look after hearing his muffler make weird noises.

The car fell on Rios and he could not free himself.  He started screaming for help. That is when the four Good Samaritans sprung into action.

The men were able to lift the car off of Rios and pull him to safety.

Police were able to name two of the heroes.  They are Charles Schulz, 30, of Huntington Station and John Greenlaw, 37, of Huntington.  The other two remain anonymous.

An ambulance rushed Rios to the hospital and he is expected to survive.
