Unknown Substance On Woman, Car Causes Scare At Hospital - New York News | NYC Breaking News

A car trunk was at the center of a scare at the Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown today. Sky Fox flew over the scene as HAZMAT crews tried to figure out if a substance inside posed a threat. 

Around 1pm this afternoon a woman pulled up to the Lehigh Valley Hospital ER. In a dark colored Grand Prix. The hospital staff tells me that they realized both she and her car would need to be decontaminated.

The woman had some exposure to an unknown substance. As a precaution they cordoned off the vehicle she had been driving in the parking area right outside the emergency dept. 

Emergency personnel zeroed in on the truck of the car where they removed what appeared to be a box of mail. 

Police wouldn't say what substance the woman was possibly exposed to but witnesses inside the hospital told fox29 that there was talk about a possible exposure to anthrax.  The woman was decontaminated before even entering the emergency room.

Lehigh Valley Health Network had to shut down the entrance where she parked, but no one inside the hospital was ever in danger. 

Salisbury twp police say it'll be several days before they can officially id the substance all over the woman and her vehicle. As for that woman hospital staff says she's doing fine and will likely be released tonight.
