Turns out that Jay-Z, a part owner of the Nets, is also a director of Brooklyn Arena LLC, the company that owns the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, the New York Post reported.
Shawn Carter, Jay-Z's real name, is listed as an arena "director" in the firm's paperwork to secure a liquor license. Developer Bruce Ratner and several others are also listed as directors.
The Barclays Center is seeking to serve alcohol up to an hour after events or as late as 2 in the morning at its clubs and suites.
The rapper and is a minority investor in the Brooklyn Nets, who will play at the arena this coming season after decades in New Jersey.
