N.J. seniors barred from graduation ceremony over food fight

MYFOXNY.COM -

While seniors at Wood-Ridge, N.J., High School are basking in the glory of their final week of high school, six are staying home because they are suspended after a food fight Friday.

For the six seniors, and a couple of juniors also suspended, it's a messy situation. Not only are the seniors suspended, but they're not allowed to walk in Friday's graduation ceremony. They'll get their diplomas but no celebration for them. And that has some upset.

The six seniors did not want to go on camera, concerned about further school reprisal.

I spoke with one by phone. He told me they cleaned the mess up and thought that would be the end of it.

All are said to be good students. Several are football players. And they're going to college. They're hoping Principal Sue Denobile has a change of heart.

For now, though, they'll just have to sit this graduation out.

We reached out to school administrators we did not hear back.
