Non-profit “Convoy of Hope" helps those in need

The "Convoy of Hope", a non-profit organization dedicated to providing services to the people in need on Long Island. 

"Neighbors helping Neighbors" was the theme on Saturday as volunteers offered groceries, health fair, kid's carnival activities, haircuts, job counseling, prayer time and spiritual guidance.  

Family portraits, live entertainment and free lunches were provided as well at the Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale. 

Organizers say the event not only helps financially, but emotionally as well. 

The non-profit organization said the services were worth $1 million. 

Convoy of Hope plans to go through all 50 states with volunteers and services traveling along.
