FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (WJBK) -

A planned K2 protest is canceled and a clerk is fired all after our story about Spice being sold at a local gas station.

"I mean if it's not against the law what's the problem," Moe Kaid said Tuesday night.

"It's killing kids," Fox 2's Taryn Asher told him.

"So what do you want us to do," he replied.

That's the reaction our reporter got when she questioned a clerk at a Mobil station about selling Spice.

Jill Sherman-Marx had met that same guy earlier.  She contacted Fox 2 to tell us she was angry that he was still selling when she stopped by the station at Orchard Lake and Twelve Mile.

"It's not our problem.  It's not their problem.  The best thing to do is forget about it," Kaid said.

Instead of forgetting, Sherman-Marx planned a protest, but after that story aired Tuesday night, she heard from the people who actually run that gas station and they were not happy.

"The actual owner of the gas station was at home in his pajamas with his wife and family watching Fox 2 News and was shocked to see the story air," Sherman-Marx explained.  "Shocked and horrified, I might add."

He went in and fired the clerk on the spot.  The owner wouldn't go on camera with us, but said Spice had been removed from all of his stores on Monday.  That clerk wasn't supposed to be selling it, and it's certainly not there now.

"K2, Spice, all of the poisons are off the shelves and that is all that I care about," Sherman-Marx said.

We contacted Exxon Mobil to tell them about all of the problems we're having in our area.  We told them how Citgo and BP have both banned their stations from selling synthetic drugs.  We want to know is Exxon Mobil going to do the right thing as well?

We're still waiting to hear back from Exxon Mobil.
