Taxi driver and tourist passenger killed in three-vehicle crash

NEW YORK -
A New York City cabbie and one of two tourists who were his passengers were killed early Saturday in a three-vehicle smashup.
Mohammad Hussain, 46, was driving 60-year-old Utah resident Suzanne Nicholson to Manhattan from Kennedy Airport at around 12:30 a.m. when the cab rear-ended a 1995 Porsche on the Long Island Expressway, police said.
The taxi then rolled over on to its roof and was hit by a Mack garbage truck, which was unable to stop on the rain-slicked roadway.
Hussain and Nicholson were both pronounced dead at Elmhurst Hospital in Queens.
Nicholson's 11-year-old grandson suffered a broken rib in the accident and was listed in stable condition Saturday afternoon at Elmhurst.
The 33-year-old driver of the Porsche and the 61-year-old driver of the garbage truck were not hurt.
Police do not suspect any criminality in the accident.
