Woman killed in school bus crash on Interstate 94 in St. Paul

ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) -

A woman was killed and several others were injured when a school bus slammed into the back of a minivan on westbound Interstate 94 in St. Paul on Wednesday.

Lt. Eric Roeske, of the Minnesota State Patrol, told FOX 9 News a Honda Accord sedan, a Ford SUV and a minivan had slowed to about 15-20 miles per hour amid a morning commute traffic backup when the bus rear-ended the van at nearly 60 mph.

The minivan was pushed into the SUV and then the sedan, and a woman inside the van was killed. All remaining occupants of the minivan -- as many as five -- were believed to be seriously injured, officials say.

One crash victim was treated and released from Regions Hospital by Wednesday afternoon.

The only person on the bus was the school bus driver, Roeske said. It is unknown if the driver was cited at the scene.
