New Art Gallery Opens in Detroit's Eastern Market

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT (AP) -

A grand opening ceremony is planned for a new art gallery situated in Detroit's Eastern Market district.

The celebration in honor of the Red Bull House of Art is scheduled for Thursday. The gallery is housed in the E & B Brewery Lofts.

For the past eight weeks, Red Bull House of Art brought in eight local artists and gave them the tools, time and space to create new works.

Each artist worked in a slightly different medium, from photography and ink-and-pen drawing to laser-cut metal sculpture.

The work is to be on display during Thursday's gallery opening.
