Air Force's CV-22 takes to the skies over Tampa

If you see some military aircraft swooping in from the skies this week, don't be alarmed. It's not an invasion, just a demonstration.

It's all part of Special Forces Operations Week, which has drawn some of the world's top military minds and industry insiders for a conference at the Tampa Convention Center.

Tuesday, the Air Force showed off their version of a V-22 Osprey. The unique gray aircraft made two runs from MacDill Air Force Base down the coast to Sarasota and back, turning heads along the way.

"The aircraft is a tilt-rotor," explained Maj. Fernando Zapata. "It can take off like an airplane or take off like a helicopter, fly twice as fast as a helicopter, and then land as a helicopter in austere environments. So everything that a helicopter can do, we can do, except twice as fast."

Wednesday, special operations forces from 10 different nations will stage a mock assault on the convention center area, using boats, ATVs, and helicopters to attack 'enemy' positions and rescue 'hostages.'

    The so-called 'knockout game' where a person punches another unsuspecting person has made its way to Hackensack, New Jersey. Police say one assailant attacked three people all in the same day. Surveillance video shows the athletically built suspect punch a man in the face and stroll away. The man fell to the ground. Two other assaults took place within less than 15 minutes in the areas of Essex Street, Summit Avenue and Beech Street on Monday night.

    Atlantic City police officers have started wearing body cameras. About five officers a shift will be equipped with the devices, which record video and audio after an officer activates the device. The video is uploaded after the officer's shift ends.
