One more thing about Chicago's NATO goodie bag

Posted: Updated:

One more thing, about what's in the city's NATO goodie bag.  Every attendee and journalist at McCormick Place this weekend gets a gift bag.

It includes a bike trail map, a Chicago Symphony Orchestra music download, fun facts about our town, flag pins, and some sweets and treats made in Chicago.    Those are nice things but if the goal is to sell the city to tourists, I've got a better idea for what should go in the welcome bag.

What better representation of Chicago than a life size, vinyl, Brian Urlacher wall graphic. And give the delegates a Bears schedule so they can make plans to go to a game. How about a wallet size picture of something representing the unique way this city does business.  Include a copy of the contract with Chicago Parking Meters LLC.

And throw in some substantial food like a couple of Chicago hot dogs with everything, an Italian beef dipped, and a slice of deep dish pizza. They'll have to come back for more. Can't get food like that in Uzbekistan.
