Suspects Sought in 2001 Double Murder Case

On Sunday, July 22, 2001, César Lozano and Gilbert Sánchez were having dinner with family and friends at Steve's Barbeque House in a strip mall on West Washington Boulevard at Greenwood Avenue in Montebello. The restaurant is now known as La Feria.

Neither man had a criminal record or any involvement with gangs.

Just before midnight, Lozano and Sánchez were shot to death in the parking lot, one of them toward the rear of the restaurant, the other in front of it along Washington Boulevard.

Two different guns were used by two different men.

Anyone with any information about the double murders should call Detective Bob Gray at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau: 323.890.5500.
