CEO, 7 Others Arrested in Child Prostitution Sting

Posted:

Michael Gilliland, CEO of Sunflower Markets, has stepped down from his position after being arrested last week on one count of felony child prostitution.

During the same child prostitution sting, Phoenix Police arrested seven other individuals. We're getting a look at their mugshots.

The other men arrested in the sting were Brandon Murillo, Jose Pacheco, Phillip Dominguez, Travis Russell, Rudy Burns, Sheldon Yazzie, and Anthony Meisner. They range in age from their 20s to early 50s.

Sunflower's president and COO, Chris Sherrell, has been named acting chief executive.

Last Thursday afternoon, the supermarket executive was intercepted by Phoenix police at a hotel where he allegedly intended to spend the night with an underage girl and pay her for intercourse.

Gilliland, 52, met the girl online, and she identified herself as a minor. Police say he agreed to meet her at the hotel near Interstate 17 and Thunderbird Road, and he was arrested after showing up at the hotel with money.

"This is the latest and then most effective sanitization method available today," says Bill Swan, the owner of the Goddard School. He purchased the ZONO Sanitech for his school about six months ago. The machine is the size of a double refrigerator and uses oxygen to kill viruses and bacteria.
