ST. JOHNS, Ariz. (AP) — The mother of a St. Johns boy who pleaded guilty to fatally shooting his father's friend has been ordered to appear in court Wednesday.
A judge sentenced the now 11-year-old boy to residential treatment and ordered that his Social Security benefits be sent to the facility to help offset the $3,000 to $4,000 monthly cost.
The boy's court-appointed guardian contends Eryn Bloomfield has missed two of the payments and others fell short of what was expected.
Bloomfield was ordered to appear at the Apache County courthouse to explain why she shouldn't be held in contempt.
The boy pleaded guilty in 2009 to negligent homicide in the death of Tim Romans. Prosecutors dropped a murder charge against him in his father's death as part of a plea deal.

A car crashed into a building on 2nd Avenue and East 4th Street in the East Village on Wednesday morning. At least eight people were injured, three in serious condition, according to FDNY officials.
