Nogales Police Officer Accused of Sex with a Minor

A Nogales police officer has been accused of sexual conduct with a minor and has been suspended from the department.

The Santa Cruz County Attorney's Office has filed charges against Officer Victor Jesus Valenzuela. He's facing 13 counts of sexual conduct with a minor.

The sheriff's office was notified of the alleged conduct from the classmates of a 17-year-old student at Nogales High School, who allegedly told them she was having an affair with the officer.

The officer will be suspended for the duration of the investigation.
