CPS Makes Changes to Breakfast in the Classroom after FOX Chicago News Report

A story FOX Chicago reported Thursday has already led to changes at Chicago Public Schools.

It was about the new "breakfast in the classroom" program.

In the past, CPS offered cafeteria breakfast to kids who needed or wanted it before classes started.

But now sack meals are handed out in classrooms, during class time.

Parents in some schools voiced concerns, including the loss of instruction time.

CPS listened.

It's now allowing six schools to tweak the program. Those schools will offer breakfast in the cafeteria about 15 minutes before class.

Students who don't show up early will still be allowed to grab a bag and eat during the first few minutes of school-time.

More schools could soon adopt the changes.
