Chicago Public School employees, parents and officials gathered outside Solider Field Wednesday morning to rally for funding.
The group boarded buses to Springfield, where they will launch a campaign to pressure lawmakers to fund schools fairly and save charter schools.
Charter school officials are concerned the cuts could hurt them disproportionately, causing many charter schools to close.
Huberman spoke at the rally, saying they will push Quinn to support the tax increase for education.
CPS still faces a $700 million budget deficit if the tax increase is passed and a $1billion deficit if it is not.
