75% of Illinois ACT Scores Not Up to Standards; Overall Results Up

Posted:

More than 75 percent of high school graduates in Illinois are not ready for college, according to results from this year’s ACT scores.

ACT test results show only 23 percent of the 2011 graduating class met college standards in all four subjects of the exam: English, reading, math and science.

The lowest scores were in science.

The good news was that overall ACT scores were up slightly from 2010.
