Would-be Robber Failed Thanks to Quick-Thinking Bank Teller

Posted:

A recent attempted robbery at TCF bank branch, located at 9343 west Irving park road in Schiller Park, would have succeeded if it hadn’t been for a quick-thinking bank teller.

The would-be robber, who wore sunglasses and a hat, handed the teller a note announcing a robbery and demanding money. The teller, however, pretended not to understand his request, playing dumb at least twice.

Becoming frustrated, the robber left empty-handed. However, the communication delay was of great benefit to investigators, making it possible to snap several clear pictures of the suspect, some of which show his face.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 20’s, about 5”10 and 230 pounds with brown hair, a mustache, and part of a goatee. He is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on the suspect should contact police.
