The Chicago Teachers' Pension Fund has filed a lawsuit against the Chicago Board of Education for failing to properly fund its pension.
The CTPF claims the board is $32 million short on the payment it is required to make by the state to keep the pension properly funded.
The CTPF said the board has been underfunding the pension for years.
The suit asks a judge to force the board to pay what it owes the pension along with court costs and interest.
FOX Chicago News incorrectly reported the lawsuit was filed by the Chicago Teachers Union. They are not affiliated with the case.
