Chicago's Most Wanted Adan Moreno Hernandez

Posted:

Twenty year old Adan Moreno Hernandez is one of more than a dozen men federal and state prosecutors charged last month with buying and selling drugs from Mexican cartels here in Chicago.

The joint investigation by the Chicago FBI and DEA found Hernandez to be the second in command of this operation, under the leader, Moises Villalobos. Investigators also say Hernandez was a trusted courier transporting both large quantities of cash and illegal drugs to and from Chicago using vehicles with secret compartments.

Agents say this drug ring operated out of a rented house in the 16000 block of South Carol in Harvey, where Hernandez and other allegedly stored drugs and money. They also believe Hernandez lived in this house.

Based on their twelve month investigation, agents estimate members of this ring sold as much as twenty kilograms of heroin each month. They add the drugs were broken down to smaller amounts and shipped to various parts of Midwest, including Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan. If the drugs weren't shipped out of state, investigators say they were sold to street gangs here who then re-sold them on the streets of Chicago.

While Moreno Hernandez is one of fourteen men prosecutors have charged with running this operation, he's also one of two defendants that disappeared before police could arrest them.

Since he is a Mexican national, FBI agents are conducting an international search for Moreno Hernandez. However, investigators say there is still a good chance Moreno Hernandez is still in the United States. Special Agent Ross Rice says, "Given fact that FBI recovered 22 kilograms of heroin during investigation, somebody's responsible to a drug cartel in Mexico for the payment of this drug debt. So he may be in a big hurry to return south of the border."

Here is a detailed description of what agents say Moreno-Hernandez looks like. He is described as a Hispanic male, 5' 7", weighing around 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

He is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, call the Chicago FBI at (312) 421-6700.
