Oak Brook's police chief wants Drew Peterson's son Stephen to be thrown off the force, but that decision won't be made until next month.

Chief Thomas Sheahan spoke at a police board hearing Thursday night. He said Peterson deserved to be fired for obstructing justice when he allegedly hid his father's guns from authorities in 2007.

Thursday night, Peterson said he never tried to hide the guns and answered truthfully when he was asked about them.

Peterson has been on paid leave since August.

Another hearing is scheduled for Jan. 10.
