Dr. Oz states that folic acid supports the fundamental ways that we make ourselves. Dr. Oz uses the example of when children are not getting enough folic acid in their mother’s womb, the child’s spine doesn’t form normally.
Dr. Oz exclaims that as an adult, folic acid plays a part in the reduction of heart disease, cancer prevention, and in women, he emphasizes the importance of taking multi-vitamins and pre-natal vitamins.
Dr. Oz further notes to this point that in America, over 50% of children are conceived from mothers who don’t know they are pregnant from the start. If those mothers don’t have the right levels of folic acid at that early time of pregnancy, the child has missed valuable nutrients during that time.
