Space Shuttle Enterprise to arrive in NYC on Friday

NASA managers, in coordination with Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum officials, are tentatively targeting Friday, April 27, for the space shuttle Enterprise to arrive at JFK from Washington's Dulles International Airport.
The flight had been planned for Wednesday, but managers shifted it to Friday, because of concerns about the weather.
A NASA 747, carrying the Enterprise, is planning to fly at low altitude over various parts of the New York City metropolitan area on Friday.
The flight is scheduled to occur between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. The exact route and timing depend on weather and operational constraints.
If all goes as planned, the aircraft is expected to fly near a variety of landmarks in the New York metropolitan area, including the Statue of Liberty and the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum.
Enterprise will be taken off of the 747 and placed on a barge that will be moved up the Hudson River to the Intrepid museum in June.
The shuttle will be lifted by crane and placed on the flight deck of the Intrepid, where it will be on exhibit to the public starting this summer.
