Eddie House Fined $25K for Obscene Gesture

Posted:

The NBA Monday fined Miami Heat guard Eddie House $25,000 for an obscene gesture he made after sinking the decisive three-pointer in Sunday's 108-103 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

House gestured with his hands down around his groin area after making the shot with 22.2 seconds left on the clock. The celebration mimicked one used by retired NBA player Sam Cassell throughout his career.

NBA Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations Stu Jackson announced the fine in a statement.

House made a similar gesture after converting the winning free throws in Friday's 88-87 defeat of the Detroit Pistons, but it went without punishment, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported.

Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith was on Sunday fined $25,000 for another crotch-related gesture.
