Military Identifies Airman Wounded in Frankfurt Airport Shooting
The US military released the identity of an airman wounded during the March 2 shooting at Frankfurt International Airport.
Senior Airman Edgar Veguilla, from Wichita Falls, Texas, was one of the wounded from the shooting that left two US airmen dead and two injured, a spokesman for US Forces in Europe said Tuesday.
Veguilla, who was shot three times, was in stable condition at a hospital in Frankfurt, a family friend told the Times Record News in Wichita Falls. The 22 year old was expected to make a full recovery, the family friend said.
Senior Airman Nicholas Alden, 25, of Williamston, S.C., and the driver, Airman 1st Class Zachary Cuddeback, 21, of Stanardsville, Va, were killed when 21-year-old suspect Arid Uka opened fire on their bus.
Another serviceman, Staff Sgt. Kristoffer Schneider, 25, of Irwin, Pa., was also wounded in the attack. The 12 uninjured survivors of the shooting returned Monday to their unit at Britain's RAF Lakenheath.
