Kate and Matt wanted to throw an all-night party. They also wanted the night to feel like a rollicking supper club out of the 1920s.
THE BRIDE: Kate, 32, MTV producer THE GROOM: Matt, 35, Spike TV editorial director THE DATE: May 16
The result: a black, white and fuchsia affair that lasted until three in the morning. Speakeasy-like lounge areas were set up throughout the space and picture books from the era were on hand to take guests on a trip back in time.
The Ceremony Kate and Matt wanted to leave the ceremony space as simple as possible, as to not detract from the important of marriage. The ballroom at The Plaza Hotel happened to be white so it was the perfect blank canvas they were looking for. They kept things simple with white chairs, white orchids and a white carpet aisle runner.
The Reception Kate and Matt had 250 guests to accommodate so they got creative with their seating. Extended family say at traditional round tables and the couple's friends were placed at long banquet tables in the middle of the room.
The Reception Decor Plush sofas and coffee tables were grouped together outside the ballroom to create multiple mini lounges.
The Centerpieces Kate isn't a big lover of flowers but she did love how the bright fuchsia orchid popped agains the black-and-white linens on the dinner tables. Other parts of the room were accented with vases of feathers.
The Cake One guest from each table was invited up to help Kate and Matt cut their gorgeous Art Deco cake.
