School Bus Fire On Verrazano

A school bus carrying children caught fire just before 11 a.m. on the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. No one was injured. The Staten Island bound span of the bridge was closed for a short time. Victory Boulevard from Church Avenue to Ridgeway Avenue on Staten Island is closed. A water main ruptured at around 4 a.m. on Wednesday. Water was shut off for about one hour. Several cars were flooded and the basement of one home was six-feet deep in water. There are bus diversions due to the street closures. MyFoxNY.com is updating this story.
