Some homeowners are being ordered to give huge chunks of their backyards back to New York City. It's a story Fox 5's John Deutzman broke in July, and he says some people are having a hard time facing the reality that it wasn't their land in the first place. The Parks Department admits it should have noticed this problem sooner. The department received a tip and started an investigation.

Computer Glitch Delays Air Travel

The FAA says a computer glitch that was causing flight delays and cancellations on Thursday morning has been fixed. An FAA spokesman told Good Day New York that airport officials were forced to manually file flight plans and fax them in to a central location.

Large Fuel Leak In Queens

Hundreds of gallons of petroleum leaked from a pipeline in the Sunnyside neighborhood of Queens on Tuesday. The Department of Environmental Protection says the spill occurred when a contractor drilled into a jet fuel system of the Buckeye Partners at Skillman Avenue and 37th Street. Approximately 200 gallons of fuel spilled into a sewer system just before Noon. Valves were shut off and the spill was contained.

Surfer Dies Off Rockaway Beach

The surfing community in rockaway is in mourning. The storm that hit the east coast made the surf way too rough. Now one of their friends is gone. Alessandro Barretto, 36, was still learning to surf. He was apparently thrown from his surfboard Thursday morning.
