At Gracie Mansion Friday, Mayor Michael Bloomberg and city officials met with religious and community leaders to talk about gun violence. A recent rash of gun violence in which stray bullets have hit innocent bystanders prompted the meeting and discussion.

Robbers Posing As Housing Workers

Two robbers carrying guns have made their way into two homes in Brooklyn by pretending to be Housing Authority maintenance workers. The NYPD wants to get these men off the streets before they can strike again. The most recent robbery happened on Carlton Avenue at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Watch Linda Schmidt's report.

Stephen Cassidy of the Uniformed Firefighters Association says the deaths caused by a fire in Crown Heights on Wednesday could have been prevented. "We've never had this problem before," Cassidy told Good Day NY referring to the new dispatching system that relies on 911 operators to handle fire related calls and not professionally trained fire alarm dispatchers.

Firefighters called to a deadly blaze in Brooklyn on Wednesday were sent to the wrong address, raising concerns about the new 911 dispatch system. Fire union officials say the new system is problematic. But the fire department says firefighters got to the fire in just over 3 minutes despite 911 callers giving an incorrect address.
