Route 80 Lane Closures Into December

Drivers take note: A traffic headache is in effect on Route 80 Eastbound in northern New Jersey until December because of a road resurfacing. NJDOT has closed the Route 80 eastbound express lanes from east of the Garden State Parkway in Saddle Brook Township to west of Route 17 in Lodi Borough and shifted eastbound traffic to the outer local lanes, including a temporary lane created on the shoulder of the highway.

School Bus Fire On Verrazano

A school bus carrying children caught fire just before 11 a.m. on the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. No one was injured. The Staten Island bound span of the bridge was closed for a short time. Computer Glitch Delays Air Travel

The FAA says a computer glitch that was causing flight delays and cancellations on Thursday morning has been fixed. An FAA spokesman told Good Day New York that airport officials were forced to manually file flight plans and fax them in to a central location.

Major Delays On GWB

Delays on the upper level of the George Washington Bridge into New York City have eased significantly. At the height of the tie-ups on Thursday, traffic was delayed about one hour. Overnight construction on the Cross Bronx Expressway lead to the early morning congestion.

Police Cruiser Crash

Four people including an NYPD officer were injured when a police cruiser and at least one vehicle collided at East 141st Street and Brooke Avenue in The Bronx. The crash happened at around 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Fire department officials say the four people injured were taken to Lincoln Hospital. SkyFoxHD is headed to the crash scene.
