Chad Ochocinco Buys Dinner for 64 Fans

(NewsCore) - Continuing his relentless push for publicity, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco bought dinner for 64 National Football League fans in Indianapolis, FOX Sports reported Thursday.

It could be seen as a fine gesture, but it is worth noting the Bengals travel to Indy to play the Colts later this season, so Ochocinco could also have been using the opportunity to cozy up to the city and get himself yet more media attention before the season begins and he is forced to split the spotlight with fellow Bengal receiver Terrell Owens.

It's a distinct possibility Owens could take catches, yards and touchdowns away from Ochocinco this year, but not even "T.O." can derail the growing pop culture phenomenon that is Chad Ochocinco. He's become the crown prince of the NFL, and he's soaking up every minute of it.

But his 64 guests didn't care as they joined the star at the St. Elmo's Steakhouse Wednesday night.

Thanks to his overactive Twitter account, the folks came from everywhere to get a free meal on Ochocinco, who claimed the night to be a huge success.

Not only that, but he's since promised to have similar events in other opposing team cities throughout the season.

It's sure to cost him thousands of dollars over time, but worth well more than that in goodwill and media play.
