MYFOXNY.COM - Sunday will be bright and sunny again. With that southwest wind an even warmer day is ahead of us. It will feel more like mid October with highs in the low and middle 60s. In fact, with a ridge of high pressure sitting off the coast into next week, the southwest winds will be able to tap into some unusually mild temperatures in the center of the nation. So Monday and Tuesday could be even milder with daytime temperatures well up into the 60's, perhaps even near 70 in spots!.
If the weather pattern remains simple, a cold front will move through Tuesday night with a possible shower. That will be followed by clearing skies and cooler temperatures the rest of thw week. But it may not be that simple. Believe it or not, a tropical system could complicate matters. Ida, a tropical storm as of this writing is moving up to the east of the Yucatan peninsula. She may weaken but is expected to remain a wet and windy system as she moves into the Gulf of Mexico and then towards the Gulf coast, anywhere from the Florida panhandle to Louisianna.
After that, most mid range weather maps were indicating it would weaken and stay south of us. But today, one of the computer models is taking the remnanats of the system up the east coast which would bring a steadier rain to our region on Wednesday before departing. That's something we'll have to keep a watch on for the next couple of days. Either way, the latter part of the week will be a little cooler with fair weather returning.
