MYFOXNY.COM - Black Friday -the day after Thanksgiving- is the beginning of the holiday shopping season. Stores open extra-early and offer major discounts on merchandise.

If you are headed out on Black Friday, expect packed stores and slow moving roads. To help you navigate the malls, shopping centers and roadways in the Tri-State Region, check out the traffic tips below from NY Traffic Authority Ines Rosales.

Woodbury Common Premium Outlets in Central Valley, NY will again host its annual After-Thanksgiving Weekend Sale where shoppers will find incredible deals beginning at 9pm on Thanksgiving night. Based on shopper and merchant demand as well as this giving us an opportunity to accommodate more shoppers and reduce pressure on incoming and exiting traffic, about 30% of the 220 stores will be opening well before midnight - many starting at 9pm.

Woodbury Common Center Management has worked diligently with all pertinent local, regional and state agencies to create a traffic management and parking plan that includes off-site parking and shuttle bus service to the center.  

Shoppers can select an alternate route recommended to bypass potential back-ups on the New York State Thruway: Take the George Washington Bridge Upper level to Palisades Parkway North to Exit 17 (A Wayne Rec Area) or Tappan Zee Bridge 287 West (New York StateThruway) to Exit 13N Palisades Parkway North to Exit 17 (A Wayne Rec Area). Look for signs for Woodbury Common Parking.

Additional parking will be available for the After-Thanksgiving Weekend Sale featuring Midnight Madness starting Thursday evening at 9pm, Nov 26 through Friday, Nov 27. Off-site parking is available at Anthony Wayne Recreation Area in Bear Mountain State Park off of Palisades Parkway only eight miles from Woodbury Common. A free continuous shuttle is available for shoppers throughout the evening until closing for off-site parkers. Complimentary hot beverages will also be available from 10pm (Thursday) to 5am (Friday) near bus pickup in parking lot.
