MTA Says Death Was Suicide

NORTH HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - (AP) -- Authorities say a man who walked in front of an oncoming train on Long Island has been killed.

The accident just before midnight Thursday at the Great Neck Plaza station delayed trains on the Long Island Railroad for about an hour.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority Detective Kim Riley says the death was an apparent suicide. The man's name has not been released, pending notification of his family.
