NEW YORK - Former NFL star Tiki Barber has created a field of dreams for city kids right in the middle of New York City.
A rooftop playground at the Manhattan Plaza Apartments on 42nd Street between 8th and 9th Avenues is a blend of video game elements and traditional playground equipment.
Tiki told Fox 5's Lisa Evers that he wanted to give inner city kids the same opportunities for outdoor activity as kids in the suburbs. Tiki says he's concerned about the growing childhood obesity reate.
More than 30 percent of children are obese in the United States.
Tiki says, " When I see kids come here and they don't want to leave because they're having so much fun, that givems the satisfaction of knowing we're achieving our goal which is to get kids to come out and play and have a community."
