Philly Mayor Makes Good on World Series Wager

MYFOXNY.COM - The New York Yankees defeated the Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series, and the mayor of the City of Brotherly Love made good on his promise in his bet with his Big Apple counterpart.

Mayor Michael Nutter joined Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the group Publicolor to work with students painting open spaces at the Albert Einstein School in the Bronx Friday.

Both mayors wore New York Yankee jerseys. Nutter wore No. 55 in honor of MVP Hideki Matsui. Bloomberg wore No. 27, a reference to the Yankees' 27th title.

Fox 5's Andy Adler went along for the activities. She spoke to Nutter about his experience wearing the enemy's uniform. Nutter said he was looking for a rematch in 2010.

Last month, the Mayors Mike dumped the much-hyped "Cheesecake vs. Cheesesteak" bet and chose to showcase volunteerism to encourage public service.
