MYFOXNY.COM STAFF REPORT
MYFOXNY.COM - The mild winter has caused an annual tradition in New York City to be canceled this year. The Parks Department has announced that Winter Jam 2012 has been called off.
Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe says, "It is simply too warm to make snow, and the long-range weather forecasts and current ground temperatures make it extremely unlikely that snow could be made."
Winter Jam 2012 had been scheduled for Saturday, February 4th in Prospect Park.
Winter Jam allows people the opportunity to try out winter sports for free.
