Cats Dumped in Jersey City Park

An outrageous case of animal cruelty in New Jersey began as a simple case of a lost cat. Jersey City Animal Control is taking a lot of heat after two of its officers admitted to dumping a house cat in a park. One of the officers says he has been dumping cats there for years. Fox 5's Arnold Diaz investigated the so-called dumping of Miss Daisy in Lincoln Park.

Watch his report (video, left) and then read and comment on his blog.

Companion Animal Trust, a group of animal activists, caught 21 cats in Lincoln Park; 13 were spayed or neutered and then released because they were not tame enough to become house pets (see photos, top left). Eight cats are up for adoption at Liberty Humane Society in Jersey City, N.J.
